22 October 2026 release
Evidence and related papers in projects, and the AI assistant on your own key
This release gives projects the tools for a literature review, gives members more control over the AI assistant, and makes PaperVantage easier for connected AI tools to work with.
- Members can run the AI assistant on their own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock or OpenCode Go, with a monthly limit they set themselves.
- Projects can keep passages saved from papers and your notes, suggest related papers from what a paper cites or is cited by, and import papers by arXiv id, DOI or a .bib/.ris file.
- The AI assistant remembers what it looked up earlier in a conversation and asks for your confirmation before adding several papers at once, and every project keeps a log of its changes.
- The Connect page now lists every tool your AI can use, and which ones change your data.
- MCP tools read long papers a section at a time, can find a paper by its title, page through long project lists and explain why a search came back empty.
Under the hood, the nightly job that links papers in the citation graph does less redundant work.
