17 October 2026 release
Smarter paper search, a Claude Code plugin, and plans
This release is about getting an AI assistant to the right passage of a paper faster, and about making PaperVantage easier to connect and to trust.
- Search inside papers now understands structure and re-ranks its best candidates.
- Claude Code users can install PaperVantage in two commands.
- Subscriptions are in place, with published Terms and Privacy pages and a way to opt out of analytics.
- The API stays warm, so the first request after a quiet spell is no longer slow.
Features in this release
- More accurate search inside papers
Papers are now split along their real structure and the top search results are re-ranked by a dedicated relevance model, so assistants land on the passage that answers the question.
- Install PaperVantage in Claude Code with two commands
A Claude Code plugin marketplace connects the PaperVantage MCP server and adds a /papervantage:new-project command, with no manual configuration.
- Subscriptions, Terms and Privacy
Paid plans are now handled by Stripe checkout, with published Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy that explain what data is collected and who processes it.
- Privacy-friendly product analytics, with an opt-out
PaperVantage uses PostHog analytics that never capture your questions, search terms or email, and you can switch it off from your account page.
- No more slow first request
A keep-warm schedule removes the 8-10 second cold start the API used to have after a quiet spell.
